Barefoot Bowls
Barefoot bowls are all about fun and freedom.
Barefoot bowls are especially for non-members who want to try bowls or who just want to play very socially.
You can actually bowl bare-footed or you can wear suitable shoes (flat soled) or jandals.
We have a good range of bowls you can use. Even if some existing members come along to provide a core, they are required to use supplied bowls as well!
This year we hope to provide a relaxed atmosphere for individuals and families alike. The bar will be open and (with a bit of luck) there will be toasties and other snacks available for purchase. Alternatively we may have a sausage sizzle going instead.
Because we are a club and have a club liquor licence, we require that any one coming to barefoot bowls be a Social Member. Social membership is available for a full season for the one-up cost of $20. Additionally, there is a participation fee of just $5 for each visit (payable on the day).
Sometimes Barefoot Bowls may take on a special format or be the venue for additional activities. Keep an eye on this space for any updates.
If you need some bowls coaching, here is a useful Coaching Video
Some rules you need to follow ..- You need to have footwear on when you have finished bowling and you want to come into the clubrooms for a social drink or snack.
- No drinking or eating near the green but you can eat or drink on the seating areas around the green or provided elsewhere in our surrounds.
- No children under 14 can participate.
- Please don't sit on the ditches (the area immediately surrounding the green).
-
Remember to roll the bowl along the ground at all times.
Do not under any circumstances throw the bowls as this will damage the green. Unfortunately,
anyone guilty of throwing a bowl above knee height will be removed from the green immediately.
The co-ordinator for the day will show you how to correctly deliver a bowl.
